Where is Carabeo Beach?

The Carabeo Beach is located on the cliffs of the Paraje Natural Acantilados de Mar-Cerro Gordo, in the municipality of Nerja, in the heart of this coastal town. 

The beach is more than 120 metres long and its turquoise waters make it different from other beaches. This destination is ideal for those who are looking for a comfortable environment without losing that closeness to the sea.

How to visit Carabeo Beach?

From the Hostal Calahonda you can access the Carabeo beach in different ways:

  • On foot, a 5-minute walk along Calle Hernando de Carabeo. 
  • It will take about 7 minutes to get to Carabeo Beach by car.
  • In summer you can use public transport, specifically the Nerja City Bus Line 1.

There is also a small car park on Carabeo Beach around the area, but its capacity to accommodate cars is not high. Therefore, in times of high tourist influx, we recommend you to go early.

What activities can be done?

In Carabeo beach, due to its crystal clear and clean waters, as well as its rocky environment, we find a varied fauna. Allowing activities such as:

  • You will be able to snorkel between different underwater formations. There are companies that offer guided tours around the area. 
  • Enjoying a family atmosphereThe area is not very deep and children can bathe safely. 
  • There is a cliff route from Carabeo Beach to the Balcón de Europa. The route is signposted so that there is no confusion, and the walk normally takes about 45 minutes. 

There is also a natural viewpoint near the beach, called the natural viewpoint of Paseo de los Carabineros. This viewpoint is less than 600 metres from the beach, which allows you to visit it in minutes and enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the coast of Nerja.

Pedazo de alojamiento al lado del balcón de Europa. Llegamos pronto, dejamos las maletas y sobre las 12 nos avisaron en recepción para entrar. Le doy 5 estrellas. El personal muy amable. La habitación era pequeña pero estupenda, muy bien repartidos los espacios, y la decoración ideal. Me ha encantado. Maravilloso lugar, muy buena ubicación, todo muy cómodo y personal muy amable y atento. La limpieza es perfecta además del aroma de recepción y de los pasillos, espectacular.
